I'm considering going to look at a demo JD 4400, sync reverser, 4 WD, 290 hrs, and R-4's for $15,500. No implements and 2 year warranty. Is this a good price. I was alos leaning towards a hydro. If the price is right, will I regret no getting hydro? I am not in a hurry a nd am willing to wait for the right buy. Thanks.

The price is Ok. I had quotes near 17K on a new tractor JD 4400 this spring. 290 is a fair number of hours for a demo. Was it a lease?
For comparison, I looked at a MF 1250 4x with loader this spring for 14.5K and 120 hrs, dealer demo. I had a dealer offer a Kubota off a 1 year lease with similar (~300 hs) hours for 13.5K, also with loader. All are comparible size to the 4400.
I purchased a used 955 JD with loader (hydro) 11K and the same hours as your demo. The hydro is good if you are doing a lot of work with the loader or mowing. It is much easier to mow at high speed and slow when turning with the hydro. ....

290 hours is NOT demo... maybe Rental or Lease or Used {warranty never filed}, certainly NOT demo. The average user will put that on in 3 years of "working" the tractor...Check it out, have a friend call the shop requesting to "rent" a 30 PTO HP compact tractor for a month, and you'll get your answer. Somewhere around $15,800 you should be able to purchase a 4400 new, then go from there...The only advantage with this unit is "factory warranty". ....

I will sell you my Used, 2 month old with 112 hours 4300 Syncreverser, with 430 loader, 73" HD loader bucket, 48 backhoe, 18" backhoe bucket, Mid PTO, Third SCCV and large R1 tires for a reasonable price.
